FP Re Appoints New General Manager

FP Re has appointed Shibo Zhang as General Manager.  Shibo joined the company late 2009 and brings with him extensive reinsurance experience from Hong Kong and China.

Shibo says: “The rapid development of the insurance and reinsurance industry in China has triggered an increasing demand for quality intermediary services.  I am extremely excited about working for FP Re, using my experience to continue developing the company as a bridge between insurers and reinsurers in the region.”

Shibo, who has previously worked as a reinsurance underwriter in China and Hong Kong, is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.  He is responsible for the day to day operation of FP Re and the management of new business opportunities.

I-Chieh Lee

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of I-Chieh Lee who died on Monday 22 June 2009. 

I-Chieh’s contribution to the Taiwanese insurance market has spanned over three decades.  He was a popular and well-loved figure in the market, and had built up an outstanding reputation amongst his peers. 

He joined FP Marine Risks as Chief Representative for the Taipei office in 2005 before moving over to FP Re, and has worked closely with Wendy Kao to develop our book of Taiwanese reinsurance.  We are truly grateful for all of I-Chieh’s hard work, and are proud to have had someone of his calibre lead the team and make the Taipei office a success.

FP Re Begins Operations

July 2006

FP Group is pleased to announce the opening of FP Reinsurance Brokers Limited (FP Re) that began operations on 1 July 2006.

FP Re is headquartered in Hong Kong with a branch office in Taipei. The company specialises in treaty reinsurance broking, offering expertise in all marine and non-marine classes.

The General Manager of FP Re is Lo Yam Wa. Lo has worked in the treaty reinsurance business for over 15 years and moves into the role having worked as Treaty Reinsurance Manager at FP Marine Risks since 2004. In Taipei, Ichie Lee has been appointed as Branch Manager and Wendy Kao as Executive Advisor.

All administrative and accounting support for FP Re will be provided by the highly professional team of support staff at FP Marine Risks.
